The event originated in 1980 and was co-founded by Professor C.Samuel Micklus and Theodore Gourley of the GlassBoro State College at the time.There are already children and students from nearly 30 countries to participate in this event.

This event originated in the United States, and the World Finals are held in the United States each year.The finals of 2018-2019 are held at Michigan State University.In the world, this competition has also been widely developed and valued.

You may have not heard of this event, but your head Olympic has developed in China for 32 years.It is mainly based on Shanghai, and has radiated to 19 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in Beijing, Shandong, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu.

  • 2017-2018, there are more than more than 450 The team participated in the contest of the Chinese region.In the end, ten teams participated in the World Finals held in the United States, and finally brought back 14 glitter trophy to China.All the award-winning schools are from Shanghai.It can be seen that Shanghai attaches great importance to this event.
  • 2018-2019, there are a total of 655 Teams, nearly 5,000 large, middle school students and kindergarten children participated in the knockout competition of China at Shanghai Jiaotong University, and participated in the team and the number of people reached a new high.

1.Founding goals

The Olympic Olympic attention is the ability to solve the creative problem of children (Creative Propam-Solving Skils), which includes two points: one is the problem solving; the other is creativity.Not only the Think Out of the Box, but also Think Without a Box.

2.Competition time

The event began in the end of September each year and continued to the end of June of the following year.Taking the time arrangement of Texas in Texas from 2019-2020 as an example:

  • September 2019: Select the team members, team and choose topics;
  • October 2019: Complete the registration and payment of the game;
  • October 2019-February 2020: Mind thinking training, complete the content of the project stipulated in the topic;
  • At the end of February 2020: The regional trials are carried out to compete for the quota to enter the Texas finals;
  • Early April 2020: For the Texas Finals, compete for the quota to enter the World Finals;
  • May 27-30, 2020: Hold the World Finals at the Aowl University University in the United States.

If you come from other states, China or other countries in the United States, please refer to the local competition time arrangement, but the World Finals in 2020 will be held in the United States Aowl University.

  • Texas’ trials in the United States will be held in Houston;
  • The trials in China will be held in Shanghai.

3.Competition group

Due to the age differences of children, the competition will be divided into five different age groups.Children of the same group (note: not age) will compete together, and a team consists of 5-7 members.The team’s group is divided as follows:

  • Level 1 (DIVISION I): From schooling to grade 5 (K-5)
  • Division II: Children from grades 6 to 8 (6-8)
  • Level 3 (DIVISION III): Children from grade 9 to grade (9-12) (9-12)
  • Level 4 (DIVISION IV):& nbsp; two-year or four-year -old college students
  • Primary: Mainly for children from grades (K-2) to grade 2nd grades.Children at this level only need to be displayed and do not score.

The last main level is relatively special, mainly for young children.The problems that these teams need to solve are different from the problems to be solved by the other four levels.They are relatively simple.At the same time, they only need to participate in regional competitions.Can’t participate in the competition after.

Of course, the K-2 children can also choose to participate in the first level, but the opponents they encounter will be older children.In the 2018-2019 season, our children participated in the first level competition at the age of K-1.The results were very good and entered the Texas Finals.

4.Competition regulation and score

The competition contains the contents of three parts.The score is also a separate score for these three parts.The total score of the game is 350 points.The following is an introduction to the content of each competition:

  • Long-Term PROBLEM & Nbsp; Solving: There are five topics to choose from each year.The topics are given very early.Often, when there is no team, these topics have been announced online.Of course, some topics are for specific age groups.Each team has completed the project through about 5 months, and it is displayed and expressed on the day of the competition.The score of this part is 200 points, accounting for about 57%of the entire game score.
  • Style: It is mainly the “wow” effect when showing the long-term proposition items.For example, whether the clothing props used during the game are amazing, whether the entire display effect impresses the judges, whether the creativity is prominent, and so on.The score of this part is 50 points, accounting for about 14%of the entire game score.
  • Solution on the spot (spontaneous proplem solving): This is a separate and independent game.On the day of the competition, the children will be taken to a room.After entering the room, the review will give the child on the spot to solve the children on the spot.It can also be both two.These topics have not been seen before, so they need to conduct innovative thinking training in the usual training.The score of this part is 100 points, accounting for about 29%of the entire game score.

5.Long-term proposition introduction
